Rhymes4LIfe continues to be a work in progress. After publishing my first children’s book, The Sneezing Toucan, I decided to split my work between two different websites. Here is where I will share some of life’s moments I have had the privilege of being a part of. Some of these moments are celebrations of great joy and others are moments of sadness and loss. I hope some of these poems touch you in some way and that you would find hope, encouragement, joy and peace.

Here are a couple of recent birth poems.
Margot Amelia Nungester It was early Sunday morning, the birds were still asleep when Margot then decided it was time to take that leap. The month was number seven and the day was number ten, the clock read four five four, details written down in pen. She tipped the scales at six pounds then add eight ounces more. Her length was eighteen inches but soon there will be more. Day by day and month by month, she’ll change before your eyes and soon she will be talking and start asking questions “Why?” Tea parties and then dress up with some ribbons and some bows, then blush and some mascara and some powder on the nose. She will make a lot of new friends in school or down the street and flash a smile that warms a room and everyone she meets. But For now she’s wrapped in blankets, tucked inside some loving arms, her Mom and Dad providing and protecting from all harm. Enjoy each and every moment for the time will quickly pass like sand that drops like falling snow through the hourglass. May the sunshine in the morning and the moon and stars at night guide her in life’s journey as she climbs to greater heights. © Jim Munroe Rhymes4life.com All rights Reserved 10/4/2022

Connor Reid Fitzgerald The year was twenty twenty two and the month was in September, the twenty fifth was going to be a day that you remember. The sun was warm, the sky was clear, a light breeze stirred the trees, the bags were packed and ready and it was time to grab the keys. A little boy came calling and the clock there on the wall said one pm right on the dot, they announced it through the halls. That little boy is Connor Reid and this is his starting weight, eight pounds and six more ounces were written on his slate. Twenty inches was his length as they measured head to toe but time will soon start flying as you watch him start to grow. A brother for a sister and now a daughter and a son, the two of them together will bring joy and so much fun. They’ll grow up with each other and have laughter and some tears and always have each other’s back as they journey through the years. They will grow up oh so quickly and will change before your eyes and soon they both will spread their wings and take off to the skies. So make the most of every minute with all your families by their side, with faith and boundless love so strong that no one can divide. © Jim Munroe Rhymes4Life All Rights Reserved 1-23-23
